Tuesday 26.6.18

Today in playgroup has been a very hot day. When we have been outside we have been trying to stay cool in the shade. During this time we pretended to sell ice cream to our friends and took it in turns to serve the ice cream. 

We then opened a shop and used shaving foam as ice cream and filled up bowls and containers. We then had some sprinkle which we added to make them look like real ice creams. We had a lot of fun doing this. 

Once we had finished making our ice creams we put all the dishes in the water tray and we washed them all so they were nice and clean. We then placed them onto a tray to dry so we can make more ice creams another day. 

Spanish Day 

 

Today in playgroup we have had a fantastic day celebrating Spanish day. We have coloured in Spanish flags and made vegetable paella, it was delicious we really enjoyed it. 

We built towers with red and yellow bricks and sorted red and yellow objects, we were really good at this. 

We enjoyed sitting in the sunshine eating red and yellow ice lollies.

Cath the cook brought us some cakes and biscuits so we decorated them with red icing and gold stars, they were really yummy. 

Finally we enjoyed dancing to some Spanish music, we were all fantastic dancers. 

 

Wednesday 20.6.18 and Thursday 21.6.18

Tomorrow 22.6.18 is Spanish day, come to playgroup dressed in red and yellow clothes for lots of Spanish fun.

On Wednesday we had lots of fun playing with the wooden farm, we had some straw to pretend to feed the horses and grass for the cows to eat. We made some gloop using cornflour and water, we loved using paintbrushes to make marks and we added glitter to mix in. It was hard to pick up. We also enjoyed playing with the magnetic blocks building a very tall tower. 

 

On Thursday we enjoyed making some tomato pasta, we cut up the onion and the pepper then fried them in the pan. We then cooked the pasta and drained it. Once everything was cooked we put it all into one pan and stirred in the tomatoes before putting it back on the heat. We finished by sprinkling some cheese on the top. Everyone had a little try and some of us thought it was delicious!

Friday 15.6.18 and Monday 18.6.18

On Friday we really enjoyed our outdoor play, we dug for worms in the mud but we couldn’t find any as the soil was so dry. We also had fun playing on the slide we took it in turns to slide down. 

On Monday we have listened to stories in the story corner, this was a lot of fun. We have enjoyed spending time in the home corner cooking food for our friends. Again we have enjoyed our outdoor play making mud pies in our mud kitchen.

Today we continued on our shape hunt looking around school for circles, squares and triangles. 

We have had a lot of fun playing outside we have used the drills to fix the bikes, rolled the tyres around the yard and listened to a story in the sunshine. 

We have also started to go on a number hunt around school looking for numbers on the walls. We were good at spotting numbers. 

Monday 11.6.18

Today we enjoyed playing with shaving foam and shaving gel. It was very soft to touch and it looked like cream. Once our hands were covered we washed them in the water tray which made the water go white. 

Some children went on a shape hunt around school. They found lots of squares, circles and triangles on the walls and floor around school. 

Friday 8.5.16

This morning we enjoyed messy play. We enjoyed mixing baby milk powder with conditioner, it was very soft. we had fun playing in the mud and passing the tyres to each other. We also enjoyed song time today singing a lot of our favourite songs including baa baa black sheep and twinkle twinkle little star. 

 

This afternoon we have enjoyed time in the hall, we got the softplay out. We had a lot of fun building towers and hiding each other under the softplay. We also enjoyed song time in the hall singing sleeping bunnies and humpty dumpty. 

 

Wednesday 6.6.18 and Thursday 7.6.18

On Wednesday we made pictures using different coloured glue, it was very fun drizzling the glue on the paper. We then had some messy play with some baby milk powder it was very soft and looked like snow. 

On Thursday we practiced our counting by playing a game of hide and seek, we took it in turns to count to 10 before looking for our friends. In the afternoon we took the water tray outside and we looked at what happened when we mixed water with the baby milk powder. 

Tuesday 5.6.18

This morning we released our butterflies, they flew around our outside area before going to explore the big wide world. 

This afternoon we have enjoyed playing with the lycra, singing songs and hiding underneath it. 

 

Monday 4.6.18

 

We had a lovely day settling back into playgroup after our half term holiday. We looked at our beanstalks and how much they had grown. We were amazed that out caterpillars had come out of their cocoons and turned into beautiful butterflies.
